Liverpool and Arsenal have been linked with a move for Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez, and Fabrizio Romano, writing in his exclusive GIVEMESPORT newsletter, has provided an update on his future.
Alvarez has flourished since his move to Spain, joining Atletico Madrid from Premier League side Manchester City last summer. It was a big money move with plenty of pressure, but the Argentinian striker has enjoyed an impressive spell in La Liga.
Liverpool and Arsenal have been heavily linked with a move to sign a new centre-forward this summer. Arsenal fell short in the title race this season, with some of their strikers struggling to score consistently, while Liverpool only have Darwin Nunez as a natural centre-forward option.

Reports in Spain recently claimed that both Arsenal and Liverpool are interested in signing Alvarez this summer. It certainly wouldn't be an easy deal for either Premier League club to complete, with Atletico paying £81m to sign him from Man City. The Spanish giants will likely want to make a profit after an impressive spell with the club, so it could be expensive to prise him away.
Arsenal and Liverpool are both likely to bring in a new centre-forward in the coming months, but a move for Alvarez could be out of reach unless they are willing to burst the bank to bring him in.
