Marcus Rashford agent meets Deco at Barcelona hotel–Pictured as he negotiates Manchester United exit

Earlier today, [we covered a report](https://sportwitness.co.uk/manchester-united-player-requires-significant-effort-to-join-barcelona-salary-drop-can-help-move/) from Catalan newspaper Sport which explained Marcus Rashford will have to take a pay cut if he wants to join Barcelona.

Manchester United were said to be wanting a figure of €48m for the forward and whilst that wasn’t completely ruled out, it’s clear the Blaugrana wouldn’t be prepared to match the wages the 27-year-old earns at Old Trafford.

Rashford spent the second half of the season on loan at Aston Villa and enjoyed some success. Despite that, the Birmingham club will not be using their clause to buy him.

[Sport](https://sportwitness.co.uk/manchester-united-player-requires-significant-effort-to-join-barcelona-salary-drop-can-help-move/) have now published a fresh article which claims Barcelona sporting director Deco and the player’s agent held a meeting at a hotel in the city on Wednesday (today) morning.

The Catalan newspaper even have a picture of the agent at a Barcelona hotel. Sport change their story a little and state the club would be looking at a loan, likely with a purchase option. Manchester United will surely be hoping for a permanent sale or at least a loan with an obligation to buy.

Figures have changed in the latest article to Manchester United wanting €40m and it’s believed player-pressure could be the key to getting a loan deal, with Sport explaining: _‘The Red Devils prefer to cash in on a player Ruben Amorim doesn’t count on and would accept a transfer fee of around 40 million. Barça knows Rashford is a problem for United, and if the player declines all the offers they receive, the British club will ultimately have no choice but to give in. It would, however, be an exercise in patience.’_

To sum it up, the Rashford camp are trying to build a move to Barcelona and Deco has taken the bait, leading to talks at a hotel this morning.
