Reece James has paid tribute to Chelsea teammate Moises Caicedo for an exceptional individual season.
Without a doubt, Moises Caicedo has been the outstanding player for the Blues in the 2024/25 campaign.
The 23-year-old midfielder endured a challenging first year at Stamford Bridge after joining from Brighton in 2023, but his second season in Chelsea colours deserves massive credit.
Moises Caicedo is considered ‘unsellable’ by Chelsea because of his importance to the football club. Over time, fewer people are bringing up his mammoth £115m transfer fee, which is a testament to how well he’s performing on the pitch.

Reece James acknowledges huge development from Moises Caicedo
Chelsea captain Reece James, 25, has praised Caicedo for his massive influence on the team this season.
In particular, he shared that the Ecuador international has improved with his English, which has made a huge difference.
When discussing Chelsea teammate Caicedo, James said via TNT Sports: “I think when he first arrived, he found it difficult, from what he told me. But this season he’s grown so much as a person, as a player. His English is getting better as well, which helps. He’s key to our team; he’s the only player that played all of the Premier League games this season. That shows how well he’s done for us.”

Jamie Redknapp called Moises Caicedo a “world-class player” after a recent Premier League display, and you could say the same after the majority of his performances this season. The aggressive defensive midfielder offers so much to the Blues both in and out of possession while never allowing his standards to dip.
It would be great for Caicedo and the rest of the Chelsea group to wrap up the season on Wednesday night by winning the Conference League against Real Betis in the final.

Moises Caicedo praised by his peers
One of the greatest boosts you can receive as a player is receiving widespread praise from the teammates you share a dressing room with. In Caicedo’s case, we’re not surprised the Chelsea stars love playing alongside him because he makes everyone’s job a little bit easier.
Romeo Lavia admitted he loves playing with Moises Caicedo, along with Enzo Fernandez, in the Blues midfield.
Meanwhile, Chelsea talisman Cole Palmer admitted he doesn’t go near Moises Caicedo in training.
Finally, Robert Sanchez paid Moises Caicedo the biggest compliment by describing him as the best defensive midfielder on the planet right now. Even though we may be a little bit biased, we tend to agree.
