Four Reds could face teammates on international duty

International period set for early June

A number of Nottingham Forest stars have received international call-ups for their respective nations ahead of next month’s international period.

Joint 2024/25 Golden Glove winner Matz Sels has been named in the latest Belgium squad for the Red Devils’ upcoming FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Sels could add to his nine caps against North Macedonia on Friday 6 June (kick-off 7.45pm) and Wales (kick-off 7.45pm) the following Monday.

Neco Williams could line-up against his Forest teammate having received the call to represent Wales in early June.

The Dragons welcome Liechtenstein to Cardiff on June 6 (kick-off 7.45pm) before travelling to Belgium on Monday 9 June (kick-off 7.45pm).

Elsewhere, Chris Wood is in the latest New Zealand squad for the All Whites’ Canadian Shield fixtures.

New Zealand take on Ukraine on June 10 (kick-off 9pm) after facing the Ivory Coast at on June 8 (kick-off 12am), where the Forest forward could come up against Ibrahim Sangaré.

The Forest no. 6 has received an international call-up for Côte d’Ivoire with the Elephants facing Canada on June 11 (kick-off 1.30am).

Rámon Sosa will represent Paraguay in their World Cup qualifiers against Uruguay on Friday 6 June (kick-off 12am) and Brazil on Wednesday 11 June (kick-off 1.45am).

Anthony Elanga has been named in the Sweden squad for their two international friendlies.

Blågult face Hungary on Friday 6 June (kick-off 6.30pm) before taking on Algeria on June 10 (kick-off 6pm).

Forest’s 2024/25 Player of the Season Nikola Milenković is in the Serbia squad for their upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Albania on June 7 (kick-off 7.45pm) and Andorra on June 10 (kick-off 7.45pm).

Morgan Gibbs-White could become the first Forest player to represent England at The City Ground after being called up to the latest Three Lions squad earlier this month.

Further down the age ranges, Elliot Anderson has been named in the pre-Euro Under-21s squad ahead of this summer’s UEFA Euro U21 tournament while Zach Abbott will represent England Under-19s at this summer’s UEFA Euro U19s tournament.

The Young Lions face Norway, Germany and Netherlands in Group B which begins on June 14.
