Exclusive: Everton and Leeds United learn Callum Wilson’s preferred destination as Newcastle…

Everton’s summer transfer plans are centred around their need to add quality in the striker position.

David Moyes has worked wonders with the squad he inherited from Sean Dyche back in January.

A decision still needs to be made on the future of Dominic Calvert-Lewin who is set to see his contract expire over the coming days.

Moyes is open to signing two strikers this summer with issues experienced up top at Everton throughout the 2024/25 campaign.

The Friedkins are finally going to be able to put their money where their mouth is this summer following the reserved January window.

Despite this, Everton could use the free agency market to their advantage with Newcastle United’s Callum Wilson of interest.

TBR Football’s Chief Correspondent Graeme Bailey has informed Everton News of what could come next for the 33-year-old striker.

With Calvert-Lewin’s future uncertain, Everton are looking to add another senior striker.

Sources have informed Everton News that Wilson is of interest to the Toffees with his future also hanging in the balance.

Newcastle United announced earlier this week that the 33-year-old striker would be allowed to leave as a free agent.

Everton are prioritising a new striker this summer but face competition from Leeds United for Wilson.

Fortunately for both, the striker is keen to remain in England with a number of Premier League clubs showing an interest.

The Toon are offering Wilson an opportunity to remain on Tyneside with an offer being put on the table.

Callum Wilson would offer a huge injury risk

Calvert-Lewin has presented Everton consistent issues when it comes to his ability to remain fit.

By signing Wilson, Moyes would be adding a striker who is older than the current Everton striker and arguably has an even worse injury record.

Beto is receiving interest from Besiktas who are keen to bring the 26-year-old to Turkey this summer.

There is no doubt Everton need to sign a new striker, but Moyes must be smart in who he decides to bring in.
