Liverpool and Arsenal were the two frontrunners in the Premier League this season, and it appears they’re going to be frontrunners in the Champions League too.
Indeed, Liverpool and Arsenal have already done some impressive work in the market.
Jeremie Frimpong is set to sign for Liverpool, while Florian Wirtz is close to joining the Reds too.
Meanwhile, Arsenal look set to sign Martin Zubimendi this summer.
Arsenal and Liverpool are both in for a new striker this summer, and according to Fabrizio Romano, writing in his newsletter for GiveMeSport, both clubs are indeed interested in Julian Alvarez.

Fabrizio Romano says Arsenal and Liverpool are keen on Julian Alvarez
Romano was asked if the rumours surrounding Julian Alvarez and a return to the Premier League are true.
The journalist says that it is true that Liverpool and Arsenal are keen on the striker, but, this appears to be a non-starter as Atletico Madrid insist on keeping the World Cup winner.
“Is Julian Alvarez a target for Liverpool and Arsenal as reports suggest?” Romano was asked.
“Atletico Madrid absolutely want to keep Julian. There’s interest from Premier League, it’s true for sure but Atléti insist on keeping him,” Romano wrote.
Julian Alvarez’s Premier League record
Arsenal and Liverpool are keen on Alvarez, and it’s easy to understand why.
Indeed, the Argentine is a fantastic player, and he’s done it on the biggest stages before.
Not only is Alvarez a World Cup winner, he’s also a two-time Premier League winner who has delivered the goods in England before.
Alvarez’s stats from his time in the Premier League show just how fantastic a player he is.
Julian Alvarez’s Premier League record
Games 67
Goals 20
Assists 11
Titles 2
Bear in mind that Alvarez was often on the bench behind Erling Haaland, his numbers are excellent.
This is a player who is certainly good enough to lead the line for Arsenal or Liverpool, and it will be interesting to see if either of these two sides are going go pursue a deal and test Atletico Madrid’s resolve this summer.
