Aston Villa face several important decisions regarding the futures of players whose contracts are set to expire within the next two years.

In total, nine members of Unai Emery’s squad have contracts expiring in either 2026 or 2027, including Boubacar Kamara.

Talks over a new deal for Kamara have been ongoing since he was first offered an extension in April.

Negotiations over a new contract for Tyrone Mings - who has one year remaining on his current deal - are expected to begin now that the season has concluded.

Lucas Digne, meanwhile, could be offloaded due to his high wages and the fact he will turn 32 in July.

Ross Barkley will also turn 32 next year and has a short time left on his contract, having joined the club for a small fee from Luton Town last summer.

Youri Tielemans’ deal runs until 2027, and Villa may look to reward him with a new contract following his impressive second season at the club.

The Belgian midfielder was named Villa’s player of the season after making 53 appearances across all competitions.

Leon Bailey is expected to leave during the upcoming transfer window, as this represents the last realistic chance for Villa to secure a reasonable fee before he enters the final year of his contract next summer.

Matty Cash and Jacob Ramsey are also contracted until 2027, giving the club further decisions to make in the coming weeks and months.

Captain John McGinn, who signed his latest extension in June 2023, also has two years remaining on his deal.
