The summer transfer window is nearly here and Manchester United are already getting their urgent business incredibly early.

Matheus Cunha is closing in on securing his £62.5million move from Wolves after he was handed permission to conduct his medical tests. The window doesn’t open until June 1 but Ruben Amorim is already close to improving his team.

After the Brazilian arrives, there is still plenty of work to be done and United could sign another three players. For that to happen, players will need to be sold to raise funds.

Here, the Manchester Evening News takes a look at who the bookmakers have tipped to join United this summer.

Bryan Mbeumo - 1/1

Mbeumo is one forward player many United fans would love to see follow Cunha through the door at Old Trafford. Fortunately, Amorim's side are the current favourites to land the Brentford star.

bet365 have United at 1/1, ahead of Newcastle at 6/4. A stay at the Gtech Community Stadium is a 8/1 giving a move to the red side of Manchester favourable.

Liam Delap - 2/1

The most-likeliest centre-forward signing for United remains Delap. With a £30m release clause, the Ipswich Town striker is an easily attainable target.

However, Chelsea are the current favourites at 4/5 with United shortly behind at 2/1. Everton are shortly behind at 7/2 and Newcastle at 9/1.

Emiliano Martinez - 6/1

Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez looks destined to leave the club this summer after seemingly waving goodbye to the Villa Park faithful at the end of the season. With Andre Onana's future in Amorim's team unclear, United have been linked.

A move to Atletico Madrid (9/4) is the current favourite with any Saudi Pro League team shortly behind at 4/1. United are just behind Barcelona (5/1) at 4/1.

Rayan Cherki - 6/1

After impressing against United in the Europa League this season and telling Lyon of his intention to depart this summer, Cherki is destined for a move to one of Europe's big teams.

Manchester City's recent interest has made them the favourites at 2/1. Borussia Dortmund (5/1) and United (6/1) are behind, both ahead of him remaining in Lyon.

Xavi Simons - 7/1

Another attacking midfielder that has been linked with United is Xavi Simons. The RB Leipzig is understood to have informed the German side of his intention to depart despite joining them permanently in the summer.

Staying put in Leipzig is currently the bookmakers' favourite with Bayern Munich (9/2) just ahead of United (7/1).

Victor Osimhen - 8/1

Victor Osimhen is set to depart Napoli this summer and after helping Galatasaray win the league in Turkey, he is favoured to move to Saudi Arabia (4/6).

United are backed at 8/1 with Juventus (5/1) just above them.

Viktor Gyokeres - 10/1

When Amorim moved to Old Trafford, Gyokeres seemed nailed on to join the Portuguese at Old Trafford. However, missing out on Champions League football means United are now behind four teams in the bookmakers' list.

Arsenal (11/10) are heavy favourites with Chelsea (2/1) shortly behind. Atletico Madrid and Liverpool (8/1) are ahead of United and Juventus at 10/1.

Joao Pedro - 12/1

After scoring 10 Premier League goals for Brighton, Joao Pedro has been linked to leave the Seagulls this summer after falling out with Jan Paul van Hecke.

Chelsea are favourites to sign the Brazilian at 5/4 with Newcastle also strongly tipped at 2/1. United are way behind at 12/1.

Caoimhin Keller - 14/1

Back to goalkeepers and Liverpool's Caoimhin Kelleher has emerged as a shock candidate. The Ireland international is expected to leave the club this summer in search of first-team minutes.

Aston Villa, who could lose Martinez, are favourites at 5/2 with Bayer Leverkusen (7/2) and Leeds (4/1) shortly behind. United are 14/1.

Ollie Watkins

Ollie Watkins - 16/1

An outside shot here, Ollie Watkins is a player the bookmakers have mentioned in United's race for a new striker. Following an unsuccessful bid from Arsenal in January, the Gunners (7/2) are the favourites to sign him.

Newcastle, Liverpool and Chelsea (14/1) are just ahead of United at 16/1.

Jack Grealish - 16/1

Possibly the biggest shock on this list is Man City's Jack Grealish. Speculation of the forward departing the Etihad Stadium has increased in recent weeks and a return to Aston Villa is backed at 1/2.

United, who showed interest in Grealish in 2019, come in at 16/1 behind Chelsea, Liverpool, Newcastle and Arsenal.
