One of the priority objectives for FC Barcelona heading into the summer is the signing of a new left-winger.
The Catalans are eager to bolster their attacking firepower on the flanks to reduce the reliance on the likes of Raphinha and Lamine Yamal.
As such, Liverpool winger Luis Diaz has been identified as the top target for the position, with the Colombian international being seen as the ideal option by the Catalans’ sporting management.
Diaz move difficult
However, according to journalist Toni Juanmarti, signing Luis Diaz this summer is likely to be difficult for Barcelona due to the Fair Play constraints. In fact, some within the club are already ruling out a move for the Liverpool winger.

Diaz has a contract with the Premier League champions until 2027 and there have been talks about an extension but there has been no movement as of yet.
Barcelona have been waiting for Liverpool to sign Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen, hoping that it could trigger Diaz’s exit.
Even then, signing the Colombian international could prove to be a costly affair, posing a problem given the club’s FFP issues.
As such, the move is now being seen as difficult, with Barcelona seemingly already working on alternative options.
Only earlier today, club sporting director Deco met with the agent of Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford, who is keen on making the switch to Barcelona.
