Teddy Sheringham Tips Manchester United To Sign“Very Gifted”£68m Attacker Wanted By Man City And Arsenal

Former Manchester United striker Teddy Sheringham has tipped United to sign Crystal Palace attacker Eberechi Eze.

The Red Devils have all but added a striker with Wolves star Matheus Cunha undergoing a medical as we speak. They are due to pay £62.5m for the Brazilian, who scored 15 Premier League goals this past season for Wolves.

However, they also need help in terms of creative players, and one name who has been linked is Palace star Eberechi Eze. The England international has also been linked with the likes of Arsenal, Man City and Tottenham.

Former Manchester United star Sheringham believes that Eze would be a great signing for Ruben Amorim if they could pull it off and beat rivals to him.

Sheringham told Prime Casino: “I think he could walk into the likes of Manchester United and Arsenal’s first team, and he would be a brilliant option for other clubs. City have been linked with him, I can see him fitting into Pep’s style of play because he’s a very gifted footballer.

You know, they’re all wanting better players and he’s playing at the top of his game at the moment and looks fantastic. So, any one of those clubs would be wanting him. Manchester United could definitely do with someone like that.”

However, it could be tough for United to tempt Eze to Old Trafford considering that Palace secured Europa League football by winning the FA Cup.

“It will be hard for Palace to hold onto him.” Sheringham added, “What could help them is that they’ve just won the first trophy in the club’s history, he scored the winner, and will be playing Europa League football next season. After what he gave Palace, if he were to depart, he would do so with everyone’s blessing.”

Eze has a £68m release clause at Palace

Manchester United would likely have to pay Eze’s £68m release clause in full if they wanted to sign him due to the amount of clubs that are keen on the midfielder.

To afford it, they may have to offload a couple of players. It does look as though they are going to sell Alejandro Garnacho however, and they could use any profit from him for a deal for Eze.

Furthermore, Marcus Rashford is going to command a £40m transfer fee that they could also put towards the 27-year-old; so after sales, United should be able to afford him.
