Step off the KC Streetcar at 16th and Main and it’s a short walk to one of the most talked about restaurants coming to Kansas City.
The 1587 Prime steakhouse from Chiefs stars Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce will be inside the Loews Kansas City hotel, with an entrance at 1500 Baltimore Ave.
Work is currently being done inside the restaurant space. Mikey Tanha, the co-founder and CEO of Noble 33, which is working with Mahomes and Kelce on the steakhouse, shared a look at the progress being made.
There is a video of that work on the Kelce Brothers Instagram story.
1587 Prime previously announced it is hiring an executive chef, operation manager and bar manager.
The restaurant is leaning heavily on the day jobs held by Mahomes and Kelce. The steakhouse will have a football theme that includes an entrance that is designed to emulate a stadium tunnel walk among other cool details.
There is no officially opening date, but it’s expected to be in the summer.
