Liverpool’s pursuit of Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez has reached an advanced stage.
The 21-year-old defender has emerged as Liverpool’s primary target to reinforce their left-back position.
Reports suggest Bournemouth are seeking a fee in the region of £40-45 million for Kerkez, representing a significant profit on the £15.5 million they paid AZ Alkmaar two years ago.
The Cherries have demonstrated their ability to develop young talent and sell for substantial profits, recently completing Dean Huijsen’s move to Real Madrid for €59.5 million after signing him for just €19.63 million.
The timing of the potential transfer appears optimal, with Bournemouth having concluded their Premier League campaign with their joint-best finish of ninth place.
Kerkez himself fueled speculation about his future with a social media post following Bournemouth’s final game, stating: “I don’t know what will happen in next week but cherries family thank you!”
Kerkez enjoyed an outstanding 2024-25 campaign for Bournemouth, starting all 38 Premier League matches and contributing seven goal involvements
Now taking to Instagram, Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Liverpool have now agreed personal terms with Kerkez:
“Liverpool have now an agreement with Milos Kerkez on personal terms.”
“Club to club talks underway with Bournemouth with an agreement expected to be reached soon for the LB.”
“Liverpool are still busy with Florian Wirtz deal, working hard to get the deal sealed with Leverkusen.”
Liverpool’s path to securing Kerkez has been aided by Manchester City’s shift in focus toward Wolves defender Rayan Aït-Nouri.
Romano confirmed that City “have asked for deal conditions for Rayan Aït-Nouri at Wolves” and that the player is “high on the list for left back position”.
This development has effectively removed Liverpool’s primary competition for Kerkez’s signature, leaving the Reds with a clear run.
With personal terms agreed and club-to-club negotiations progressing, Liverpool appear well-positioned to complete the signing of Milos Kerkez in the coming days or weeks.
