Craig Bellamy has shared his devastation over the tragic incident that occurred during Liverpool's trophy parade, where a car drove into a crowd, leaving more than 60 people injured and 11 hospitalised in a stable condition.

The former Liverpool player, who is now the Wales manager, expressed his sorrow when discussing the events of Monday evening in the city centre. Bellamy, who had two spells at Liverpool, said he initially didn't know about the incident until he looked it up on the news.

"I didn't know anything about it (at first), then looked it up on the news," he explained while announcing his squad for the upcoming international break in June.

He recounted how he watched the footage on his phone and regretted it, saying, "And then you could see something happened. Then I watched it on my phone. And it was one of those you wish you didn't watch."

The Welsh football legend admitted to not knowing all the details but conveyed his deep empathy for those affected.

"I don't know the ins and outs right now and that's the honest truth, I don't.

"I just feel for anyone who was involved obviously, the victims and the families as well, it's heartbreaking."

Bellamy also reflected on the significance of the event that was marred by the incident, highlighting Liverpool's achievement.

"It's heartbreaking, to go to what should be an incredible moment, which is an incredible moment - the most successful club in England. Equalling 20 titles, which was so, so important.", reports the Liverpool Echo.

"And I am a Liverpool fan by the way. To see that happen, it was incredible.

"It's incredible. I don't know, I'm probably like everyone else, I'm still trying to absorb it now.

"Maybe I will do in the next few weeks but at this present moment, it's still quite raw for me and quite sad.
