Celtic loanee Jeffrey Schlupp’s departure from his parent club, Crystal Palace, this summer has been officially confirmed by the Premier League side.

After 247 appearances for the London club, the versatile Ghanaian will be moving on from Selhurst Park, a place he has called home since his move from Leicester City back in 2017.

On Crystal Palace’s website, the South London side posted a glowing tribute to the player, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Celtic, winning the Scottish Premiership in the process during his short stint in Scotland.

On his imminent exit from the newly crowned FA Cup winners, Schlupp only had good things to say about Crystal Palace. "It's been an incredible eight years playing for this club,” he said.

"I've met some great people – the Chairman, the gaffer, and all the staff I've met over the years – and it's meant a lot to have played for Crystal Palace. A big 'thank you' to this group, who have achieved something so special.

"You ask anybody about the Palace fans, and they know about the atmosphere that they create, and the amount of times they've pulled us through in difficult times. They've been our 12th man – so thank you to all the fans who have always supported me.

"Hopefully, I've done you proud. I'll definitely see you again soon."

Longtime club Chairman Steve Parish added: "Across nine separate seasons with Crystal Palace, Jeffrey has made many an important contribution to the Football Club – and scored some incredible goals!

“Whatever has been asked of him – whatever the role, whenever the time – he has given his utmost to, and it speaks volumes that he has made such a great impression in different systems and under different managers.

“Successful squads are built on players of Jeffrey’s calibre and character, and we have much to thank him for as he moves on from SE25. He leaves with our heartfelt gratitude and the very best wishes of everyone at Crystal Palace."

Though he has left Celtic, recent reports have suggested that the club would be willing to sign Schlupp permanently this summer.

Arsenal’s Kieran Tierney will seal his return to the club on July 1, when his contract in North London expires, nearly six years on from his 2019 departure.

Greg Taylor’s future is still up in the air, with Greek side PAOK reportedly keen on the player, who is out of contract at the end of next month.
