Manchester United kicked off their post-season tour with a loss to ASEAN All-Stars as they huffed and puffed without avail in a 1-0 defeat.
A scrappy game played at a lumbering pace was mainly played in the midfield as neither team could get much attacking traction in the early stages.
The pace could never really get going due to constant subs, as a few youngsters were bright spots but the team struggled to create as a unit.
A goal in the second half for ASEAN All-Stars needed a United response which never came despite the team bossing territory and possession.

Here’s how the players rated-
Man Utd ratings vs ASEAN All-Stars
Andre Onana – 4
Had one save to make from a weak shot and even that was parried into the danger area.
Reece Munro – 5
Gave away one foul after being done by the attacker. Less adventurous than Heaven on the other side.
Harry Maguire – 7
Clearly the most popular member of the XI in Malaysia as he was cheered every time he touched the ball. Gave the fans a professional show.
Ayden Heaven – 5
Looked to be playing at half-effort levels which saw him get into uncomfortable situations at times.
More United News
Diogo Dalot – 6
Flew forward and put some dangerous crosses into the box before fading away.
Patrick Dorgu – 6
Full of energy and running but United concentrated most attacks down the right instead.
Casemiro – 5
Tried some fancy flicks and tricks that were ill-advised as he came off after 30 minutes.
Manuel Ugarte – 6
Did well to keep up the energy of the game with his combative play.
Kobbie Mainoo – 7
Tested the goalkeeper with a long-range shot and was a nuisance all along in an advanced role.
Jack Moorhouse – 7
Played just 30 minutes but showed invention and responsibility to always show for the ball and carry it up the pitch.
Rasmus Hojlund – 2
Stuck out like a sore thumb with missed passes, failed flicks, and pointless runs. Increasingly looking like a lost cause.
Substitutes
Jaydan Kamason – 6.5
Not afraid to fly forward and test the goalkeeper while showing extreme calmness on the ball.
Dan Armer – 6.5
Came in place of Maguire and took his skill set forward like nothing happened. Set-piece domination and kept the play ticking.
Shea Lacey – 6.5
His lack of physicality was an issue as he was easily pushed off the ball at times but his quality on it is undeniable.
Sekou Kone – 8
Player of the half in the first-half despite coming on after 30 minutes. Combative and silky in equal measure. Clearly a potential superstar.
Bruno Fernandes – 6
Tried to entertain the fans with some flicks and rabonas but wasn’t his finest attacking display.
Alejandro Garnacho – 6.5
The crowd loved him but his sloppy play suggested his head was somewhere else after Amorim’s brutal comments recently. Still looked threatening on occasion.
Amad – 7
United rarely looked threatening but whenever they did, he was at the centre of it.
Tyler Fletcher – 6.5
Buzzed about with energy as Collyer held the fort behind him.
Tyler Fredricson – 6
Cool and calm as he was rarely tested.
Jonny Evans – 7
Led a youthful back three with Kukonki and Fredricson. Professional display as always.
Toby Collyer – 6
Functioned as almost the sole defensive midfielder and kept it simple and solid.
Harry Amass – 6
Fared well on the odd defensive occasion he was needed. Not much thrust attacking-wise.
Godwill Kukonki – 6
Looked like a man mountain out there. Could have done better with the goal conceded but certainly one to get excited about.
Chido Obi – 7.5
Created a chance for himself within minutes of coming on, doing more than what Hojlund did in 45. Was a nuisance throughout.
Tom Heaton – 6
Not needed at all and was helpless for the goal conceded.
Jim Thwaites – 6.5
United academy’s set-piece wizard struggled to get involved but would have earned Amorim’s trust with a brilliant last-man tackle in injury time.
