Luis Diaz is a player who has been consistently linked with a Liverpool exit over the last few months or so.
Indeed, the Colombia international was one of the Anfield outfit’s most prolific attackers in the 2024-25 season, so it’s not a surprise to see clubs vying for his transfer.
Liverpool seem to be gearing themselves up for a busy summer transfer window, with new players being linked almost every day.

Diaz’s future is still up in the air at the moment, with no definitive answer given on where he’ll be playing next season.

Barcelona want Diaz because their priority in the summer is a left-winger so that Raphinha can be moved into a more central position.
And, as per a new report from Spanish outlet Sport, it seems that the Spanish media are trying to urge Diaz to force Liverpool’s hand and allow him to leave, much like Raphinha did a couple of years ago.
Diaz has ‘postponed negotiations’ regarding an extension until after the Club World Cup, which Sport believes is a ‘first step worth appreciating.’
However, the report adds that Barcelona will only know whether they can carry out the ‘key summer deal’ in mid-July.

Sport also add that Raphinha even ‘fell out with Leeds bosses’ in order to make the move come to fruition, with the outlet seemingly urging the Colombia international to do the same.
However, the report does end with the admission that it’s ‘not easy’ to leave Anfield and that Barcelona would have to ‘pull out all the stops’ to get a deal over the line.

Comparing the statistics of Luis Diaz and Liverpool transfer target Igor Paixao
Seeing as though Liverpool are set to undergo a massive summer of change, it’s not a surprise to see players in Diaz’s position already being linked with a move to Merseyside.
The latest on that list is Feyenoord’s Igor Paixao, who was coached by Arne Slot during his time as manager.
Paixao has been in fine form this term, with the Brazilian contributing to 37 goals across all competitions, which, when compared to Diaz’s returns, is fairly impressive.
Of course, the quality of the leagues have to be taken into consideration, but for a player who’s only 24 years old, Paixao’s numbers are more than decent.
Only time will tell what the future holds, but Diaz has a massive choice to make about where he wants his career to head as he enters his prime years.
