The Man City career of Kevin De Bruyne is very close to its end.
The Belgian superstar played his final Premier League match for the Manchester club at the weekend and is set to start a new chapter in his career this summer after the English giants decided not to offer the 33-year-old a new contract.
De Bruyne is expected to join Napoli ahead of the 2025/26 campaign, which will be a big change for the midfielder, having spent the last 10 years in Manchester, while he has never played in Italy either.
The Etihad Stadium has been the home of some of the best moments in De Bruyne’s career, and the Man City legend has now revealed his favourite.

Kevin De Bruyne names Aston Villa comeback as his favourite Man City moment
Premier League colleagues speak highly of De Bruyne, and that is a result of all the magic moments he created during his time in England.
One of those came on the final day of the 2021/22 campaign, where the Belgian assisted the goal that won Man City the Premier League in dramatic circumstances against Aston Villa, which the midfielder has now named as his favourite moment in a sky blue shirt.
“Maybe there are two in particular,” De Bruyne told City Magazine when naming his favourite moment at Man City. “I would say the goal I scored against Real Madrid at the Bernabeu, for various reasons, and then the Aston Villa game when we came back from 2-0 down to win 3-2 and win the title in 2022.
“That feeling in that game is something I never experienced in my life and it’s impossible to explain – it was just crazy, and you had to be there, because everyone who was will understand exactly what I mean – the emotion of that moment is impossible to explain to anyone who wasn’t in all honesty. I guess that would be the feeling I would replay over.
“But it’s all been great. I’m proud of everything that has happened. It’s been unbelievable.”
That comeback would not have happened without De Bruyne’s influence, however, it would be Ilkay Gundogan who got all the plaudits for saving Man City on that day.

How Ilkay Gundogan saved Man City vs Aston Villa
Gundogan was not happy on the day Man City won the Premier League in 2022, as the German expected to start for the final game of the season against Aston Villa.
The midfielder used that as fuel to help Man City produce a comeback from 2-0 down against Aston Villa, with the veteran midfielder scoring a brace at the Etihad Stadium to cement himself into the club’s history forever.
In the eyes of many Man City fans, the game is only second to Sergio Aguero’s last-minute winner against QPR in 2012, therefore, it is no surprise that it is the favourite of De Bruyne, having played a key role in the final result.
The Belgian is very likely to create many more special moments when he moves to Napoli, but it would have to be something incredible to top the scenes that took place against Aston Villa on 22 May 2022.
