Manchester United are pushing to sign Matheus Cunha but will also have one eye on another Brazilian as Antony takes on Chelsea.

We are now a week removed from Manchester United’s Europa League final defeat to Tottenham Hotspur.

Ruben Amorim is no doubt still reeling from that defeat, even though United beat Aston Villa 2-0 on the final day of the Premier League season.

United missed out on the riches of the Champions League, which could hamper Amorim’s spending power this summer.

United are closing in on Matheus Cunha, with the Wolverhampton Wanderers star poised to join in a £62.5million move.

As one Brazilian prepares to arrive, another could be on the way out with Antony attracting interest at Real Betis.

How much Manchester United could receive if Antony wins the Europa Conference League

Antony joined Betis on loan in January, having struggled to make a lasting impact in the United first team.

The former Ajax winger managed 12 goals and five assists in 96 games for United but already boasts a record of nine goals and five assists in just 25 Betis appearances.

Antony has been recalled by Brazil off the back of his Betis form and now has the chance to end the season with silverware.

Betis take on Chelsea in the Europa Conference League final on Wednesday night and will be looking to spring something of a surprise on the Blues.

If Betis do manage to grab the victory in Wrocław, United will be able to bank some more money from Antony’s move.

ABC de Sevilla report that Betis would have been forced to pay around €500,000 (£420,000) if Antony didn’t play a certain number of games, but he has been a key man so that payment won’t be necessary.

As things stand, Betis must pay United €150,000 (£126,000) having qualified for next season’s Europa League through their La Liga finish.

It’s added that a win in the final would take the payments up to €365,000 (£306,000), which includes that £126,000 payment.

United won’t exactly be diving into a pile of money if Betis win, but that extra cash could come in handy over the course of the summer – if Betis can get over the line.

Manchester United need Antony sale this summer

Antony has done everything he possibly could in terms of attempting to impress Amorim.

The winger has been exceptional for Betis, but that surely won’t be enough to save his United career.

United need to sell players in order to raise funds this summer and Antony is primed to go.

Atletico Madrid have shown an interest in Antony and United will be hoping for a big performance from him in the final.

Other clubs are surely paying attention to Antony recapturing his form, and the hope will be that the potential £300,000 windfall will be nothing compared to the millions from a full sale this summer.
