Al-Ettifaq want to break the bank for Abdoulaye Doucouré this summer as he leaves Everton on a free transfer.
That’s [according to Africa Foot](https://africafoot.com/al-ettifaq-veut-casser-sa-tirelire-pour-abdoulaye-doucoure/), who report that Doucouré is preparing to embark on a new challenge this summer after leaving Everton.
He has high expectations after leaving Everton, particularly as he’s a free agent, but Saudi Arabian club Al-Ettifaq are ‘prepared to do anything’ to secure his signature.
Talks between the club and the 32-year-old’s representatives are believed to be at an advanced stage. The Saudi side are reportedly willing to pay him an annual salary of $6m.
That has raised the bar in negotiations for him, as Shabab Al Ahli have already offered him a $4m a year deal. Doucouré ‘hopes for much better’ before choosing his next destination.
He had made it clear that he wanted to stay at Everton beyond the end of his contract and the Blues reportedly offered him a new deal, but the two sides could not reach an agreement, and he is on the way out at Goodison Park.
Al-Ettifaq are keen to take him to Saudi Arabia and offering him big wages to do so. Whether their offer enough remains to be seen.
