Ronald Araujo has claimed that he has no plans to leave Barcelona amid all the transfer speculation that the likes of Manchester United, CHELSEA and Tottenham are ready to being him to the Premier League.
The 2024-25 campaign was far from ideal for Araujo, who struggled with fitness issues following surgery after the Copa America. His long absence from the pitch saw others step into the spotlight, most notably Pau Cubarsi and Inigo Martinez, who often took up starting roles in his stead
Barcelona are struggling financially and have been linked with selling a number of players in order to help balance the books, and keep players at the club that they really want to build a future with.
However – despite all the speculation and all the rumours – Araujo has come out and claimed that he has no intention on leaving Barcelona over the next few months and plans to see out his contract – Speaking to reporters, Araujo said: “I’m happy with all the titles we won this season. Personally, I don’t think it was a great season, especially because of the injury that kept me out for a long time.
‘but I’m happy because I’ve got three titles under my belt, and I’m happy to be here. I assure my continuity, I have a contract until 2031.”
Iomie Stanley told icfootballnews: ‘Enzo Maresca knows that he needs to add another world class defender to that back-line, he knows that having a solid back-line will help get the club challenging for trophies once again.
‘Araujo would have been a great signing for CHELSEA he really is world class, but Barcelona are pretty clear and want to keep the player, and he is pretty clear that he would like to stay put.
‘But that will not stop the transfer speculation over the next few months that is for sure.’
