Manchester City are seemingly closing in on their first summer signing, before the transfer window even officially opens on Sunday.
Hugo Viana – Director of Football at the Etihad Stadium – is already working hard in his new role after replacing Txiki Begiristain.
Manchester City are expected to sign Morgan Gibbs-White from Nottingham Forest in the coming weeks, but Tijjani Reijnders could make it to the Etihad Stadium before the England international after an update from Italy.
Tijjani Reijnders has bid farewell to AC Milan
Italian journalist Carlo Pellegatti has now claimed on his YouTube channel that the Netherlands international has said goodbye to teammates and staff members at AC Milan.
The respected 75-year-old said: “I heard that Reijnders said goodbye to his teammates.
“He said goodbye to everyone at Milanello, he said goodbye to his teammates. It didn’t seem like the greeting of a player going on holiday.”

It comes after Sky Sports claimed that Reijnders has agreed personal terms with Manchester City ahead of a move to the Etihad Stadium.
Pellegatti added that AC Milan value the Dutchman at a sum of €70m (£60m) – so he will be a headline arrival for the Citizens.
Speaking of holidays, as Pellegatti mentions, Reijnders is believed to have cancelled a trip he had planned amid talk of a move to Manchester City, adding more fuel to the fire surrounding his future.
Manchester City have agreed terms with Tijjani Reijnders, but still need to shake hands with AC Milan
Viana has focused on agreeing a deal with the 26-year-old before negotiating with AC Milan, and by the sounds of it, discussions could be slow.

Manchester City have opted to lowball AC Milan rather than immediately pay the asking price, with an opening bid worth £55m set to be sent soon, which is obviously £5m below his £60m valuation.
Having said that, £5m is not a huge gap to bridge, so seeing as Reijnders has already agreed to join, we would expect Manchester City and AC Milan to find common ground shortly.
