The 10 Best Wide Receiver Tandems in the NFL
Tee Higgins (left) and Ja'Marr Chase (right) hitting their routine pregame handshake.
Wide receiver duos are the real bread and butter of NFL offences, and give us fans jump-out-of-your-seat moments all throughout a season.
Vavel will weigh up the entertainment and raw ability of these productive pairs and what puts them a cut above the rest.
1st - Ja'Marr Chase + Tee Higgins - Cincinnati Bengals
Chase and Higgins are the pinnacle of a one-two punch in the NFL. Last year alone they combined for 27 touchdowns, the most for a WR duo and their skill sets united make it a nightmare for defensive backs - Chase brings the sharp route running and elite ball tracking, whilst Higgins offers steady hands and elusiveness over the middle of the field. With both men tied down to long term deals, the Bengals can look forward to an era of league domination in the passing game.
2nd - A.J. Brown + Devonta Smith - Philadelphia Eagles

The high-powered offence of the Philadelphia Eagles is littered with superstars wherever you look, but few come better than Brown and Smith. These two polished outside threats combined for over 1900 yards last season and allowed Jalen Hurts to spread the targets around en route to their Super Bowl title.
3rd - Justin Jefferson + Jordan Addison - Minnesota Vikings

Since falling to the Vikings in the 2020 draft, Justin Jefferson has never not been a top 3 receiver in the league. He’s on pace to become the most productive receiver in NFL history, tracking for 10,000 yards by the age of 27 (Jerry Rice only crossed 10,000 by his age 30 season). He has proven to be insanely productive with multiple quarterbacks throwing to him, none of whom you would consider elite.
Jordan Addison is a solid wide receiver two, making the most of the extra attention Jefferson attracts. He has gone for 800+ yards in his first two seasons while also putting up 10 and 9 touchdowns respectively.
4th - Puka Nacua + Davante Adams - Los Angeles Rams
It could be the last crescendo in LA for Mathew Stafford, so head coach Sean McVay has gone all out to make one last push for the Lombardi trophy. Davante Adams brings 11,844 career yards worth of experience to link up with a resolute, physical threat in Puka Nacua, who burst onto the scene as a fifth-round pick in 2023. Their skills combined will make them an unpleasant matchup as they look to close out the Stafford era in style.
5th - Ceedee Lamb + George Pickens - Dallas Cowboys
The Cowboys are no strangers to having elite talent at the wide receiver position, and the addition of George Pickens to pair with superstar CeeDee Lamb gives them one of the top units in the league. Lamb has hit 1000 yards in each of the last four years, with his 2023 season yielding an eye-watering 1749, and Pickens brings over 2000 over the last two seasons to help out Dak Prescott.
6th - Mike Evans + Chris Godwin - Tampa Bay Buccaneers

NFL’s Mr Consistent has crossed the 1,000-yard mark in each of his 11 seasons in the league so far. Even last season, after missing multiple games due to a hamstring injury, he still managed to cross the landmark on the final play of the regular season - and at the age of 31, he is still capable of getting open downfield, with his size making him a headache for any defender.
Chris Godwin has been the league's premier slot receiver for several seasons now. There have been seasons where he has been the Buccaneers' WR1, and in many teams in the league, he’d be the main weapon. A severe knee injury ended his 2024 season, so there will be doubts whether he will be back to full strength by week 1.
7th - Amon-Ra St. Brown + Jameson Williams - Detroit Lions

The brace in Detroit emits a real underdog mentality. Amon-Ra is this gritty, durable slot receiver who never drops the football, who's posted four consecutive 1,000+ yard seasons; whilst Jameson, although more raw, brings versatility and frightening straight-line speed. Together, their effectiveness at all levels is what makes them so hard to guard - they racked up 2,264 yards last season, and what can propel them further up the list is their ability to replicate these numbers in 2025. Thankfully, age is on their side as the youngest wide-out tandem on this list, so there's truly no ceiling to their potential.
8th - Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle - Miami Dolphins

The Dolphins duo haven’t been at their best as of late, but we all know the prowess of Hill, especially with over 11,000 yards in his eight-year career so far. It’s easy to forget that Waddle set the rookie receptions record just four years ago, and despite a down season last year with just 744 yards, he still provides immense firepower and completed a formidable duo.
9th - Terry McLaurin and Deebo Samuel - Washington Commanders
Finally Terry McLaurin has a capable quarterback throwing to him. No other top-10 receiver in the league has had a QB situation as poor as his, and now with Jayden Daniels throwing to him, his talent will finally be utilised to its potential. It’s just a shame his prime may have been wasted.
While McLaurin is on the edge of leaving his prime, Deebo Samuels has certainly passed his. The former 49ers' ability to separate is amongst the worst in the league, but with the ball in his hands, he is still a capable weapon. It’ll be down to Kliff Kingsbury to find a way to scheme him up in order to make him effective.
10th - Drake London and Darnell Mooney - Atlanta Falcons

We finish off the list with arguably the league's most slept-on duo of Drake London and Darnell Mooney. They earned 2,263 yards in 2024, and the tape shows how seamlessly their games crossover. London offers the prototypical build and dominance of a WR1 on the outside, and Mooney as the slot adds that slippery edge DBs have difficulty tracking. With increased proficiency in the end zone and a step forward in Michael Penix Jr.’s development, London and Mooney could be a really exciting partnership to follow in 2025.
