Report: Wolves and Arsenal now battling to sign 'exceptional' gem Romain Saiss knows all about

Wolves are set for a huge summer – and the club now apparently have eyes on a player who has just been relegated from the Premier League.

After finishing 16th in the table, Wanderers fans now want to see the club kick on.

And to do that, a productive summer is essential.

Wolves have a lot of work to do, with a number of players set to leave the club. Today, Pablo Sarabia’s exit from Wolves has been confirmed.

Matheus Cunha’s move to Manchester United is only a matter of time, and Nelson Semedo is another who could be on his way.

Wolves will most definitely need to buy one or two new forward players this summer – and the club reportedly have interest in Bilal El Khannouss of Leicester City.

It has been claimed by Give Me Sport that Bilal El Khannouss has emerged as a target for Wolves going into the summer window.

El Khannouss only joined the Foxes last summer from Genk.

But he could be set for an early exit, having been one of the bright sparks for Leicester in their dismal 2024/25 season.

Interest is already growing in El Khannouss ahead of the summer, and Wolves are in the mix. They have decided to target him upon realising how difficult it will be to sign Harvey Elliott from Liverpool.

Liverpool want north of £40 million for Elliott, which just isn’t feasible for Wolves.

Journalist Sacha Tavolieri has reported Leicester would be looking for around £22 million to part ways with the Morocco international.

But Wolves may not have it easy to sign El Khannouss, with Arsenal also suggested as a team who could swoop.

Bilal El Khannouss style of play

El Khannouss – who is an international teammate of former Wolves star Romain Saiss with Morocco – is the kind of player who gets fans out of their chairs.

He is still only 20, and therefore quite raw, but El Khannouss is all about being positive and making things happen in those pockets of space between an opposition defence and midfield.

He tends to play centrally, although can operate from the left too.

What is most striking about El Khannouss is his technical ability, and how well he works the ball.

As per Get Belgian & Dutch Football News, El Khannouss ‘plays as a midfielder, usually as an advanced playmaker but can also be deployed as a No.8 due to his exceptional tactical knowledge’.

They go on: “The midfielder is blessed with excellent technical ability, athleticism and agility to be able to shift from one direction to another in the blink of an eye all combined with creativity, intelligence and confidence.”

He’s also said to have illustrious intelligence with and without the ball’ and is ‘ambidextrous’.

With all that said, El Khannouss really could be a great signing for Wolves this summer.
