Report: ‘Total agreement’ at club to sign ‘sensational’ Man Utd star this summer

Manchester United star Rasmus Hojlund could be on his way to Inter Milan in the summer transfer window, according to reports from Italy - with the Dane having endured a horror campaign at Old Trafford that has all but signalled the end of his time in the English top-flight under Ruben Amorim.

Hojlund is considered an 'ideal' replacement for Inter's French striker Marcus Thuram, with sporting director Piero Ausilio having 'no intention' of backing down for this season's Red Devils flop, in which he has only scored four goals in the Premier League as United recorded their worst-ever finish in the competition.

The report by Inter Live states that Inter are studying the future of their attack - and Hojlund's name has received 'everyone's total approval' at the San Siro as they prepare a summer transfer window move for the star who was called 'sensational' by Twitter profile Liam Canning.

The deal won't progress for the next few days, with the Nerazzurri having the Champions League final to contend with, moving any summer business to the side until at least next week.

But it isn't to say that the transfer window isn't 'boiling in the pot', and nobody at the club wishes to be unprepared for the summer and the Club World Cup, which gets underway just 10 days after the final in Munich on Saturday evening.

The notion of a return to Serie A, where United plucked him from Inter's Lombardian rivals Atalanta, is in the air - a feeling that has been prevalent at Inter for some time, with Hojlund previously being touted as Romelu Lukaku's replacement in 2023. United won that race, but Inter's interest hasn't faded, and they believe that Hojlund's poor form is merely a blip in the road, with his technical value being much higher than what is on show in England.

Inter would like to sign the youngster on a loan deal, with an option to buy or an obligation under certain conditions, on a four-year deal. Both director Ausilio and owners Oaktree are in 'total' approval to secure a deal - especially with United completing a deal for Wolverhampton Wanderers star Matheus Cunha, alongside looking likely to sign Liam Delap from Ipswich Town.
