Former Manchester United and England midfielder Paul Scholes paused before he picked a highly rated World Cup winner for his star-studded ultimate XI of players.
Paul Scholes had a sensational impact in the Premier League and the 50-year-old TNT Sports pundit is widely regarded as one of the best midfielders of all time.
The Manchester United legend made a whopping 716 senior appearances for the Red Devils and Scholes netted 155 times and registered 82 assists for the club.
Scholes rose through the ranks of the United youth academy in the 1990s and became a linchpin midfield influence for former manager Sir Alex Ferguson.
One of United’s famed ‘Class of ‘92’ stars, Scholes broke into the United first team and enjoyed incredible silverware success during his time at Old Trafford.
Scholes spent his entire club playing career under Sir Alex Ferguson and he lifted 11 Premier Leagues, two Champions Leagues, three FA Cups and two League Cups.

Paul Scholes builds the backline for his incredible ultimate XI and includes four Man Utd legends
Speaking to The Daily Mail, Paul Scholes was caught by surprise when he was asked to build an ultimate XI with legendary players, both past and present, in football.

The footballer-turned-pundit put fellow United legend Peter Schmeichel between the sticks and fellow Class of ’92 star Gary Neville out at right-back in his team.
Scholes provided cover for Peter Schmeichel with two of his ex-United teammates as his centre-back pairing, with Rio Ferdinand and Jaap Stam getting the nod in the XI.
While Gary Neville was stationed out at right-back in his star-studded team, Scholes picked out Brazil legend Roberto Carlos for the left flank of his four-man backline.

Man Utd legend Paul Scholes’ telling response for Zinedine Zidane when constructing his midfield and forward line
Moving into the midfield and Scholes was asked in the TikTok clip to name a right-sided midfielder, with the United legend pausing before picking Zinedine Zidane.
“Right midfield? I’ll put Zidane there,” he said.
Scholes has waxed lyrical about Zinedine Zidane in the past and the former Real Madrid manager is widely regarded as one of the best players of all time.
Following the addition of Zidane, Scholes selected a midfield partnership of Los Blancos skipper Luka Modric alongside former Real Madrid star Toni Kroos.
Scholes put Ronaldinho out on the left side of midfield before he selected his forwards to be United legend Cristiano Ronaldo and Barcelona icon Lionel Messi.
