Patriots coach condemns star player after concerning viral video

The New England Patriots brought in new head coach Mike Vrabel to change the culture around the organization and bring a winner back to Foxborough. But recently, one new Patriots star displayed some concerning behavior, which Vrabel is well aware of and spoke to on Wednesday.

New England’s biggest move this offseason was to bring in a true No. 1 receiver for second-year quarterback Drake Maye, signing former Pro Bowler Stefon Diggs to a three-year $69 million deal this offseason.

Unfortunately for Patriots fans, Diggs may be more interested in partying with his new girlfriend, Cardi B, than taking his offseason seriously to rekindle his former elite play.

Recently, a video has gone viral where Diggs was seen on a boat with Cardi B. And while hanging out on a boat with a significant other would seem harmless at first, Diggs’ behavior on said boat was anything but harmless.

In a post on social media that has since gone viral, Diggs was seen hanging around a number of women on the boat before motioning to his wallet, which had a pink substance that most believe to be tusi, otherwise known as “pink cocaine”.

Upon pulling out his wallet, Diggs was captured telling one of the girls to “take” the substance, but not to “take too much” of it.

“Take that,” said Diggs. “But don’t take all of it. Y’all go have fun then come back and see me.”

Obviously, this isn’t exactly the kind of thing you would like to see someone like Diggs doing. And naturally, Mike Vrabel was asked during the Patriots’ team OTA’s on Wednesday whether he was aware of the video, which he indeed had seen and discussed privately with Diggs.

“It’s something we’re aware of,” said Vrabel. “Obviously, we want to make great decisions on and off the field. We are hoping that with our time on the field today, when we don’t have a script and we’re on the call periods, we are making great decisions. The message will be the same for all our players that we’re trying to make great decisions. Any conversations that I have had with Stefon will remain between he and I and the club.”

“It’s something we’re aware of. We want to make great decisions on and off the field.”

On if he expects Diggs to practice today:

It remains to be seen whether Vrabel will reprimand Diggs in any way for what he appeared to be doing on the video. But clearly, his tenure in New England hasn’t exactly gotten out to the best start.
