Everton have long struggled with PSR after their recent financial difficulties.

The Toffees were handed two points deductions in the last campaign for their financial breaches, still thankfully managing to survive with ease.

Big money signings have long been restricted at Goodison Park as the Merseyside club attempts to manoeuvre the transfer window.

However, Everton have now suffered another financial blow ahead of the upcoming transfer window.

Now, The Friedkin Group have suffered another blow to Merseyside club’s financial position after it was revealed that they have lost out on broadcast fees this season.

According to the Liverpool Echo (28 May), every Premier League club receive a £839,000 sum for each game that is screened live on either Sky Sports, TNT Sports or Amazon.

For the 2024/25 campaign, Everton were on TV 16 times. As a result, they have earned £14.5million.

There is a dramatic difference between Everton and the Premier League’s top teams

However, this is a dramatic drop-off compared to last season, when the Merseyside club had 23 live games and earned £20.2m.

As a result, they have lost out on £5.7m in fees after they featured on TV the second least out of any Premier League side in this campaign.

Everton must become an entertaining side in the Premier League once again

The trouble with Everton is in recent years, they have either been fighting relegation or had nothing to play for going into the last third of the season.

This obviously damages the likelihood that they will be placed on TV, which has now resulted in a major financial loss.

Hopefully, this should recover next season, with David Moyes playing far more competitive football than Sean Dyche.

On top of this, Everton moving into the Hill Dickinson Stadium should increase the attraction of the broadcast companies.

The new era is beginning, and millions will be there to see it around the world.
