PITTSBURGH -- Rookie Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Roc Taylor was absent from videos during wide receiver individual drills on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Taylor had lofty expectations coming into this OTAs period as someone who could step up and make a roster push. The Steelers showed they liked him enough as well, giving him a $30,000 bonus when he signed,
However, in a video shared by Alan Saunders of Steelers Now on Wednesday, Taylor can be seen working off to the side with the training staff, a sign of someone who might be recovering from an injury.
Taylor projects as an X-receiver, but he misses out on valuable OTAs reps. The Steelers signed Montana Lemonious-Craig, another wide receiver of the size of an outside wide receiver, on Tuesday.
Taylor stood at 6-foot-2, 213 pounds at the NFL Combine and ran a 4.49 40-yard dash. He added a 30 1/2-inch vertical and a 10-foot-2-inch broad jump.
At Memphis, he had a productive final two seasons, posting over 900 yards in each season. In 2024, Taylor had 66 receptions for 950 yards while adding two touchdowns. 2023 was his best year, posting 1083 yards and four touchdowns on 69 receptions.
Overall in his career, Taylor had over 2000 yards and played in 44 games. He joined his former teammate Calvin Austin III, who the Steelers selected in the 2022 NFL Draft.
