Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim slammed his team after they were beaten 1-0 by ASEAN All-Stars in a post-season friendly.

Following a miserable campaign United suffered further frustration in Kuala Lumpur.

It has been a terrible season for United, who finished in 15th place in the Premier League and were beaten by Tottenham in the Europa League final.

Amorim admitted that the defeat to ASEAN All-Stars was 'disappointing'.

As reported by The Sun, Amorim said: 'Yes, a disappointing result, but no injuries and a tough pitch.

'We don't have it in us not to choke in every exercise, in every game, that is what happened.

'We should win these kind of games, no matter what. We need to bring that inside of us in every game.

'The important thing is no injuries with this weather and to arrive here in this day. It is not an excuse, we should perform better.'

It is difficult to read too much into the result given that United used 27 players during the game, including many youngsters.

However, United still started with experienced players such as Andre Onana, Harry Maguire, Manuel Ugarte and Casemiro.

Bruno Fernandes and Alejandro Garnacho both came on for the second half.

United are back in action on Friday when they take on Hong Kong.

Amorim's team certainly require an overhaul in the transfer window and Wolves star Matheus Cunha is set to be the first arrival at Old Trafford this summer.

United have agreed to pay Cunha's £62.5million release clause in three instalments over the next two years.

Amorim told reporters: 'You have to wait for that (announcement). I won’t confirm anything. I have no news. We will see. There will be some changes.'
