**We all know by now that without Manchester United's win over Aston Villa on Sunday, Newcastle United would not have qualified for next season's Champions League.**
Had Aston Villa picked up even a point at Old Trafford on Sunday, Newcastle's defeat to Everton would have meant that the Magpies would have had to make do with Europa League football next term, but Ruben Amorim inspired his players to a massive 2-0 win.
That win came just a few days after losing out on lifting the Europa League themselves, instead opting to give Tottenham Hotspur a rare taste of silverware.
Indeed, Manchester United, if there were such a thing, would definitely have been awarded Most Generous Club this season.

Manchester United have held an open-top bus parade around Kuala Lumpur

While there is no trophy for being so generous and handing other clubs their shot at glory, Manchester United have still held an open-top bus parade at the end of their season.
Finishing 15th in the Premier League and losing in the Europa League final are achievements enough to warrant a nice little trip around Kuala Lumpur.
The players look absolutely thrilled to be showing off their ... faces, I guess.
Manchester United: The gift that keeps on giving
------------------------------------------------
Maybe, just maybe, had the club not opted to send their players halfway around the world for a tour of shame, Jim Ratcliffe could have saved at least one of the 200 or so jobs he's axed at the club.
Manchester United really are the gift that keeps on giving lately.
If they hadn't been so insufferable for most of my life, I'd actually feel sorry for Manchester United fans right now. Going from the glory days of Sir Alex Ferguson to whatever the hell is going on now is a massive, massive step down, and it would be sad if it were pretty much any other club.
