‘I don’t have a date ’ - Garcia in no rush to decide future amid Barca talk

Joan Garcia can’t seem to go anywhere without [being stopped by the local media and asked if he’s going to leave Espanyol for Barcelona](https://www.barcablaugranes.com/2025/5/27/24437890/joan-garcia-breaks-silence-on-espanyol-future-amid-barcelona-transfer-talk).

The goalkeeper is wanted by Deco and Co. [who are eager to snap up the stopper](https://www.barcablaugranes.com/2025/5/27/24437282/espanyol-chief-tells-barcelona-many-clubs-interested-in-joan-garcia) for the relatively cheap price of €25 million.

Garcia has been at the Estadi Johan Cruyff for the Catalunya vs Costa Rica match and offered up the following response to the latest round of questions.

> “I’m very calm, to be honest. It’s true that a lot of things are coming up, from a lot of teams, but for now I’m very calm. We’ve just finished the season and I want to rest a little and be with my people. From there, I’ll decide what’s best for me,” he said via Mundo Deportivo.

> “These are things that don’t depend on me. For now, I’m an Espanyol player. If the club receives an offer that seems good to them, and that seems good to me too, then we’ll talk about it. I don’t have a date to decide.”

Once again, it doesn’t sound like Garcia has ruled out a move to Barcelona just yet. It also doesn’t sound like he’s in any rush to make a decision which means this could turn into Barca’s latest summer transfer saga.
