The Warriors will again host a short NBA Summer League event in advance of the full-league session in Las Vegas this July.
San Francisco’s Chase Center will be the site for all games from July 5-8 after splitting games for the session with the Sacramento Kings’ Golden 1 Center last year.
The Warriors’ and Kings’ prospects will be joined by teams representing the Miami Heat and Los Angeles Lakers.
Summer League rosters are usually comprised of recent draft picks and young free agents looking for a chance to showcase their skills and create relationships with teams, hoping to catch on for an invitation. Teams sometimes include second- or third-year players to help them develop and spend more time with their organization’s coaches.
Warriors players Brandin Podziemski, Trayce Jackson-Davis and Pat Spencer participated in the 2024 edition of the California Classic. Golden State has one pick in next month’s draft, No. 41 overall in the second round.
The California Classic is a round-robin tournament, so each team plays all three others. The Warriors face the Lakers at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 5, then play the Spurs at the same time the following day. They finish the session on Tuesday against the Heat.
The July 5 and 6 sessions — which open with Heat-Spurs and Heat-Lakers at 1:30 p.m., respectively — are open to fans, while the July 8 games will be broadcast-only. Two-day passes go on sale to the general public Thursday via the Warriors’ website, and single-game tickets will be available June 9 for season ticket holders and June 10 for the general public.
