The Denver Nuggets put to bed some uncertainty when they made David Adelman the full-time head coach.
Adelman was the interim head coach after the Nuggets chose to part ways with head coach Michael Malone and General Manager Calvin Booth just days before the start of the NBA Playoffs.
Adelman must have made quite the impression, as he brought the Nuggets to within one game of advancing to the Western Conference Finals, but fell to the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Nuggets' Russell Westbrook gives four-word message
While Nikola Jokic was the driving force, it was Aaron Gordon and Russell Westbrook who stepped up in critical spots, whether it was with timely shots or offensive rebounds.
Westbrook has a player option for the 2025-26 season and has until June 29 to decide whether to exercise it, which would result in a $3.46 million salary.
He posted a four-word message ahead of what could be a crucial offseason for the Nuggets.
"Back in no time... #whynot," the X.com post read.
Westbrook averaged 11.7 points per game during the Nuggets' playoff run.
One particularly impressive thing was that he shot 41.7% from deep in the opening series against the Los Angeles Clippers. With as many close contests as they had in that series, it was often enough to swing those games in Denver's favor.
The Nuggets will likely have to address their lack of depth in the offseason. Westbrook coming back would certainly help them in certain areas with the added benefit that his option is relatively cheap.
