The Chicago Bears and second-year quarterback Caleb Williams are hoping to become a playoff contender during the upcoming 2025 NFL season.
After a 2024 campaign that saw Williams' rookie season end with a 5-12 record, the hunger is real for the Bears. However, a new report has come out that has stirred up some drama for the young franchise quarterback.
Recently, it was reported that Williams and his father did not want the quarterback to be drafted by Chicago. Instead, he reportedly wanted to find his way to the Minnesota Vikings.
Williams has been quiet since that report came out, but he has now spoken out and fired back at the notion that he didn't want to play for the Bears.

"I wanted to be here. I love being here," Williams said, as shared by Adam Jahns of The Athletic.
Jahns also revealed more about what Williams wanted by coming to Chicago.
"He said he wanted the 'challenge' of turning the Bears around and becoming the team's QB," Jahns wrote on X. "He did have a good visit with the Vikings and Kevin O'Connell but things changed after he met with the Bears."
While the report caused a media frenzy, Williams and the Bears are in a good place. They're set to head into year two together and the team is much improved from where it was to end last season. Everything is looking up in Chicago.
During his rookie season with the Bears, Williams played in 17 games. He completed 62.5 percent of his pass attempts for 3,541 yards, 20 touchdowns, and six interceptions. In addition, he ran for 489 yards.

It will be interesting to see what the 2025 season has in store. Regardless of the outside noise, Chicago is focused on winning. That is all the roster cares about heading into the new campaign.
The 23-year-old quarterback also made his goal of winning clear with a blunt message during his press conference.
"The main goal and objective of being here is to turn it around," Williams said.
Everything for Ben Johnson, Williams, and the Bears will begin on Sept. 8 at home on Monday Night Football against the Minnesota Vikings. A win over the Vikings will help any Chicago fan concerned about Williams' previous interest in the NFC North rival sleep better.
