Manchester United have reportedly missed out on a windfall after Real Betis lost in the Conference League final to Chelsea.
According to reports in Spain, Man United were in line to receive a small cash injection if the LaLiga outfit had won their first-ever European title in Wroclaw, Poland, on Wednesday night.
This is due to a clause in Antony’s contract following his loan switch to Betis in the January transfer window.
The report states that as part of the loan move, Man Utd and Betis agreed on a number of bonuses were the Brazilian able reach them during his stay in Spain.
One of which was Betis paying £300,000 to United if they won the Conference League final against Chelsea. This was on the condition that Antony played in more than half of their matches in the competition.
The winger went to to feature in every single game en route to the final, but could not inspire Manuel Pellegrini’s side to a shock win over the Blues despite leading all the way from the ninth minute until just past the half hour mark with Abde Ezzalzouli’s goal.

Cole Palmer inspired the turnaround with two assists for Enzo Fernandez and Nicolas Jackson in a ruthless five minute spell before Jadon Sancho and Moises Caicedo added gloss to the scoreline.
Sancho’s brilliant strike ultimately ended the final as a contest and it will not be lost on many that one Man United loanee stopped a fellow Man United loanee earning their parent club a reported transfer windfall.
That said, the pair embraced at the final whistle and it now remains to be seen what the future holds for them.
Antony could yet earn Man Utd a sizeable transfer fee as he has rediscovered his best form since joining Real Betis, netting nine goals and weighing in with five assists in 26 appearances across all competitions.
"I always say that I had good moments, but I had very difficult moments too. Not only on the field but off it," he told TNT Sports Brazil before the Conference League final. "I went through some very difficult times there that ended up affecting me a lot.
"But I am very grateful even for these difficult moments that I went through. Today, I feel much more mature, much more prepared, I feel much better. It was a moment when I thought about stopping playing. I no longer felt that desire to play football because of everything I was going through."
There is talk of Antony joining Betis on a permanent transfer this summer, whilst links to Atletico Madrid, Real Sociedad and Juventus have emerged in recent days.
After losing the make-or-break Europa League final to Tottenham, Ruben Amorim's side need to raise funds to bring players in this summer.
