Every Dallas Cowboys fan knows the feeling: you post about your team, and here come the Philadelphia Eagles fans — unprovoked, uninvited, and fully locked in. At a certain point, it became less of a rivalry and more of a strange social fixation.
Well… now it’s confirmed. A Reddit study analyzing NFL subreddit comment patterns shows that no fanbase talks more about another team than Eagles fans do about the Dallas Cowboys.
It's science! Let that sink in.
Not Giants fans on the Commanders. Not Jets fans on the Patriots. Not even Bears fans on the Packers.
It’s Eagles fans talking about the Cowboys ... nonstop.
The study measured team-to-team name mentions across thousands of Reddit threads, and the results weren’t even close. Cowboys were the No. 1 team mentioned by Philadelphia fans — more than their own quarterback, more than their GM, more than the 49ers, Chiefs, or anyone else in the league.
And here’s the thing — it’s not just data. It’s real. Just yesterday, an Eagles fan climbed into my comments — unsolicited — and when I tried to have a rational, honest, and objective conversation? Crickets. He disappeared. That’s how it goes.
It’s not just obsession — it’s dependency. The Cowboys aren’t just a rival to Eagles fans. They’re a measuring stick. A fixation. An identity piece.
This doesn't take away from the Eagles having won the Super Bowl ... except for the fact that Philly should be so busy celebrating being on top that they shouldn't bother looking down.
Yet ... they can't stop.
Maybe it’s the market share. Maybe it’s the attention Dallas gets. Maybe it’s the 4–9 record the Eagles have against Dak Prescott. But whatever it is, they can’t help themselves.
The Dallas Cowboys live rent-free in Philadelphia's minds — and now we have the data to prove it.
