Green Bay Packers Star Xavier McKinney Shares Big Jaire Alexander Opinion for 2025

Throughout the course of the 2025 NFL offseason, the Green Bay Packers have been facing a major question. Do they bring star cornerback Jaire Alexander for one more season or do they cut ties with him now?

Alexander has been unable to stay healthy over the last couple of years. In each of the last two seasons, he has played in just seven games. That simply isn’t going to cut it for the Packers.

While his absence has been very hurtful for the team, Alexander is still one of the most talented cornerbacks in the NFL. Moving on from him would be a very difficult decision to make. That has led Green Bay to trying to work out a restructured deal with Alexander for him to return.

Now, Xavier McKinney has spoken out with his thoughts on the matter.

Green Bay Packers Star Xavier McKinney Shares Big Jaire Alexander Opinion for 2025

During a media session at OTA’s, McKinney did not hold back from sharing what he wants to see happen between the Packers and Alexander. He wants his teammate back in town for the 2025 season.

“We would all like him back,” he said. “I talk to him every day, pretty much. Just try to stay connected with him. Obviously, we’ve developed a great relationship with each other, but my thing that I always try to talk about is: that’s his own situation, and I want the best for him.”

Last season in just seven games played, Alexander showed he can still play at an elite level. He recorded 16 total tackles, a fumble recovery, two interceptions, a defensive touchdown, and seven defended passes. He was on pace for a huge year before injuries took over.

It will be interesting to see if the two sides can work something out. Green Bay would be a much stronger defense with a healthy Alexander on the field.

With the team going into a Super Bowl or bust season in 2025, it seems likely at this point that Alexander will return for at least one more year for the Packers. That could change, but the signs seem to be pointing in that direction.
