Thunder's Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Praises Teammates After Winning Major NBA Award

The Oklahoma City Thunder were able to take care of business at home on Wednesday night in Game 5 of the Western Conference Finals against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Oklahoma City entered the contest needing a victory to advance to the NBA Finals and that is exactly what they were able to do as they dominated their way to a 124-94 victory.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the way in Wednesday’s victory as he finished the game with 34 points, seven rebounds and eight assists.

After the victory, the NBA awarded Shai with the 2025 Western Conference Finals MVP award as he was given the Magic Johnson Trophy.

Of course, this is just another incredible accomplishment for Shai who also won the regular season MVP award this season.

After winning the Western Conference Finals MVP award, Shai praised his teammates in an interview.

“I don't have 124 points by myself. I love these guys to death,” Shai said about his teammates after being named Western Conference Finals MVP.

This was a great message by Shai and one that the Thunder have preached all season as they have been the definition of a complete NBA team.

Of course, Shai has received a ton of credit for Oklahoma City’s dominant season, and for good reason, but the rest of the roster has played a key role as well.

From the other star players in Chet Holmgren and Jalen Williams to players off the bench like Alex Caruso, Isaiah Joe and Cason Wallace, the Thunder have built an incredible team and they have put together an incredible season that now has them in the NBA Finals for the first time since 2012.

Of course, the Thunder are looking to win their first championship since moving to Oklahoma City and they are still awaiting the victor of the series between the Indiana Pacers and New York Knicks.

No matter who they play, the Thunder will host Game 1 of the series as they try to cap off their dominant season with a title.
