The Green Bay Packers still have no true no. 1 wide receiver since 2022. Candidates for it include Jayden Reed who was the team’s no. 1 player in teams of catching and receiving yards in the past two seasons. There are also the likes of Romeo Doubs, Christian Watson.

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Romeo Doubs (87) celebrates scoring a touchdown with wide receiver Christian Watson (9), wide receiver Jayden Reed (11) and running back Emanuel Wilson (31) against the Arizona Cardinals during their football game Sunday, October 13, 2024, at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
However, his placement in the team was questioned after the team picked Matthew Golden in the first round of the NBA draft. Then, it was followed by Reed’s agent Drew Rosenhaus who reportedly met with general manager Brian Gutekunst.
People should stop worrying as Reed clarified that there is nothing out of the ordinary in that meeting. The only new thing was the agent himself who he recently hired and is only sorting his concerns.

“A lot of people misinterpreted that,” Reed told reporters after OTA practice when asked about that meeting.
“I hired a new agent [Rosenhaus], and we talked about it before even the draft, really, that he said he was going to talk to the front office and everybody here to just catch up and make sure everybody’s on the same page. As a new client, he told me that’s the way he was going to do it, and he did it.”
Jayden Reed is showing selflessness
Reed’s actions lately show that he is confident about his place in the team. The WR1 spot is up for contention and what he’s doing lately signals that he wants what’s best for the team.
This includes stepping up to become a mentor to rookie wide receivers Golden and Savion Williams.
Head coach Matt LaFleur and passing game coordinator Jason Vrable called this development as his biggest improvement.

Reed iterated during the OTA practice that he is all about selflessness for the team’s overall wellness.T
“I’m a very unselfish person. Whenever anybody fall, I try to be the first person around to pick ’em up. I try to pick players up when they got they head down, so yeah, that’s just what kind of player I am.”
