Joe Cole 'stunned' after what he's hearing about Liam Delap to Chelsea live on air after…

Liam Delap’s future appears to be narrowing down following his talks with Everton and other Premier League clubs.

Chelsea, Manchester United and Newcastle have all held talks with the Ipswich Town striker in a bid to tempt him to sign.

David Moyes personally spoke to Delap and it is believed the player likes what he heard from the 62-year-old Scot.

However, Everton face some serious competition in the race for Delap who has seen clubs from across Europe show their interest.

Delap has now seen interest from European clubs land over recent days in a last-ditch attempt to secure his services.

But it does appear as if the 20-year-old is now set to remain in the Premier League with Moyes and Everton eagerly awaiting his decision.

“He’s robust, an out-and-out number nine who knows where the goal is.”

Everton went all in for Delap and were even willing to provide him with a release clause for a future transfer.

But his decision to join Chelsea appears to be made now and he will have to hope he does not end up as another prospect to struggle at Stamford Bridge.

Everton must quickly eye their next striker target

Very simply, Everton must move and focus on who is next with it looking likely they will miss out on Delap.

It has been suggested Everton will battle for VfB Stuttgart’s Nick Woltemade who is also attracting a lot of attention this summer.

He is someone who could certainly match Delap’s physical presence and more.

But Everton News understands Everton are also eyeing Callum Wilson as an option to add to their squad depth with Dominic Calvert-Lewin potentially heading for the exit.

Moyes is open to signing more than one striker this summer at Everton and the club will know they need to bolster their options.
