Chelsea are set for a boost in their long-term pursuit of AC Milan star Rafael Leao this summer, sources have told Football Insider.
The Blues have long been linked with a potential swoop for the Portugal international, 25, but Milan have fought hard to keep him at San Siro.
Chelsea are again on the hunt for a new left-sided winger this summer with the club unlikely to go through with their purchase of loan star Jadon Sancho.
Sources say the London club could have a “window of opportunity” to sign Leao with Milan failing to qualify for any kind of European football for the 2025-26 campaign.
AC Milan could be forced to cash in on Leao this summer
It is believed the Italian giants could be forced to cash in on the winger if they receive the right offer.
Leao did not enjoy his best season this term – but still contributed 12 goals and notched 13 assists in 50 games across all competitions.

Guehi sets stance on summer move
Meanwhile, Football Insider has revealed (20 May) that Crystal Palace’s FA Cup win will not make a massive difference to the future of Marc Guehi.
Sources say Palace hope Europa League qualification will persuade the England international to stay – but they will find it tough.
Guehi is only under contract at Selhurst Park until June 2026.
Football Insider revealed in March that Newcastle, Tottenham and Chelsea will race Liverpool to land Guehi this summer – while Arsenal have also been linked.
