Chelsea’s attention will now turn to the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, which kicks off in June and with an all-new look. Clubs from around the world will convene in the United States, which is the main host of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, with games in that competition also taking place at Canada and Mexico.

The new model of the FIFA Club World Cup featured 32 teams, with an expanded competition that will - FIFA are hoping - make this competition one that clubs take far more seriously going forward. Here we round up everything you need to know about the competition.

When and where is the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup?

The FIFA Club World Cup will take place between June 14 and July 13. The competition will be held in the United States across 12 venues, including 11 host cities. Here is a full list of venues and their maximum capacities:

The 32 teams involved in the Club World Cup are as follows:

Group A - Palmeiras, FC Porto, Al Ahly, Inter Miami

Group D - Flamengo, Esperance de Tunis, Chelsea, LAFC OR Club Ámerica (To be decided by play-in match)

Here are Chelsea’s fixtures for the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup group stage:

Chelsea vs LAFC OR Club Ámerica - June 16, 8pm UK - Mercedez-Benz Stadium (Atlanta)

Flamengo vs Chelsea - June 20, 7pm UK - Lincoln Financial Field (Philadelphia)

Esperance de Tunis vs Chelsea - June 24, 2am (June 25) UK - Lincoln Financial Field (Philadelphia)

If Chelsea progress as group winners, they will play the runners-up of Group C, which includes Bayern Munich, Auckland City, Boca Juniors and Benfica, at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens on June 29. If they finish runners-up in their group, they will face the winner of that same group at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte on June 28.

2025 FIFA Club World Cup Competition format

There will be eight groups made up of four teams each. The top two from each group will progress to the Round of 16 and from there the competition will whittle down to the winner. It’s a 32-team competition that will work like the now old version of the FIFA World Cup.

When is the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup final?

The FIFA Club World Cup will take place on July 13 at MetLife Stadium, New Jersey. The stadium, which usually plays home to the New York Jets and New York Giants, will also play host to next year’s FIFA World Cup. It’s worth noting that both semi-finals of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup are also at the same venue.

The prize money for the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 is as follows:

Group stage (three matches): + $2.0 million per win; + $1.0 million draw

Round of 16: + $7.5 million

Quarter-final: + $13.125 million

Semi-final: + $21.0 million

Finalist: + $30.0 million

Winner: + $40.0 million

Clubs will also receive set amounts for their participation in the tournament. They are as follows:

Europe: $12.81–38.19 million (determined by a ranking based on sporting and commercial criteria)

South America: $15.21 million

North, Central America & Caribbean: $9.55 million

Asia: $9.55 million

Africa: $9.55 million

Oceania: $3.58 million

How to watch 2025 FIFA Club World Cup in the UK - and live stream details

Channel 5 have bought the television rights for some of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup. The channel will show 23 of the 63 games in all and free-to-air. Channel 5 will show 15 group games, four last-16 ties, two quarter-finals, one semi-final and the final.

The games will be sublicensed through DAZN, and the broadcast will also have DAZN branding and staff. Every game of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup can be streamed through DAZN, who also offer a live stream through their app and website. DAZN is a subscription service that will require payment.
