Barcelona’s 2024-25 season is now officially over which means the club will be looking at the squad and potential ins and outs during the summer transfer window.
Hansi Flick has a number of players who could be set to wave goodbye to Catalunya this summer, so let’s take a look at who could be on the move.
Ansu Fati

Barcelona’s No. 10 shirt looks set to be worn by Lamine Yamal next season, with current owner Ansu Fati seemingly heading to Ligue 1 and a spell with Monaco.
It’s no surprise whatsoever to see Fati on the move. He has barely featured under Flick this season and he simply must go out and play somewhere to get his career back on track.
There’s a genuine sadness that it hasn’t worked out for Fati at Barca after he made such a stunning breakthrough. The hope is that he can go and star at Monaco, with the deal expected to be an initial loan with a purchase option.
Inaki Pena

Fati isn’t the only La Masia graduate set to leave this summer. Inaki Pena will surely head for the exit after what’s been a really difficult season for the 26-year-old.
Pena had a golden opportunity to stake a strong claim for the No. 1 spot when Marc-Andre ter Stegen was ruled out for the majority of the season with a serious knee injury.
Hansi Flick subsequently turned to Pena but he lost his place after being late to a team meeting and never got it back from emergency signing Wojciech Szczęsny.
Pena has reportedly been left quite affected by the whole saga and, with rumors of a move for Joan Garcia flying around right now, must feel his time at the club is over.
Pablo Torre

Barcelona have a tricky situation with Pablo Torre who has warmed the bench all season long under Hansi Flick. The midfielder is clearly too good to remain on the fringes but the depth of Barca’s squad means he’s barely had a look-in.
Torre has made just five starts in 2024-25 in all competitions and played a total of 328 minutes under Flick. The German reportedly refused to let him leave in January, and Torre may be wondering why as he’s only made two substitute appearances since the window closed.
A loan deal may be the best way forward this summer. Barca will be reluctant to let a player of Torre’s quality go, but at the same time there’s simply no point in him spending another season on the bench.
Wojciech Szczęsny

The current thinking is that Wojciech Szczęsny will stay at Barcelona but it would be no surprise at all if he opted to head back to the sunshine of Marbella and the golf course.
Szczesny has enjoyed a brilliant season, and is a popular figure at the club, but knows he’ll be back-up next year and isn’t likely to feature much.
It’s a decision that may well suit all involved, too. Barcelona are said to be keen to activate the €25 million release clause in Garcia’s contract and bring him to the club.
The Catalans also have some real exciting goalkeeping talent on the way up, with the likes of Diego Kochen and Aron Yaakobishvili currently progressing through the ranks.
Pau Victor

Barcelona could also look to offload Pau Victor this summer. The youngster was promoted to the first team last season, as back-up to Robert Lewandowski, but has only made two starts and hasn’t really been able to make much impact.
The Catalans have seen Ferran Torres show he can be a really effective option up front this season and also continue to be linked with moves for Luis Diaz or Marcus Rashford in the summer window.
Should either player arrive it could spell the end for Victor’s chances of first-team football altogether next season. There’s already been talk of a move away, with Bayer Leverkusen and several La Liga clubs thought to be keen, and it’s difficult to see him sticking around for another year as a bit-part player.
Andreas Christensen

Barcelona have a decision to make over Andreas Christensen this summer. He’s contracted to the club until 2026 and Barca don’t want any players heading into next season with just a year left to run on their existing deals.
A summer exit had looked a certainty for the Dane - who has barely played this season due to an Achilles problem - with Jonathan Tah expected to arrive on a free transfer but he now appears to be heading to Bayern instead.
That may well mean that Christensen stays after all. He’s said this season he doesn’t want to move and has looked pretty good after returning from injury.
His injury record does remain an issue, but his versatility means he could also be a useful squad option if he does stick around.
And the loanees?

Barcelona are also expected to wave goodbye to the three players they had out on loan this season. There’s hope a permanent deal can be agreed with Atletico for Clement Lenglet, while Alex Valle is on the verge of securing a permanent transfer to Como. Meanwhile, Oriol Romeu has returned to the club from Girona but is not expected to stay at Barca.
