Real Madrid have their new coach now. [Xabi Alonso is set to start coaching the team](https://therealchamps.com/a-big-fabrizio-romano-transfer-update-real-madrid-fans-will-love-01jwbmttfbdp) in 10 days' time. It will be fun, although most of the players will return later.
It is a new era, and the first time in this decade where the coach is not Zinedine Zidane or Carlo Ancelotti. In fact, it is the only the third time in the last 12 years that a coach apart from those two is going to take the reigns.
Alonso is definitely much, much more exciting than Julen Lopetegui or Rafa Benitez, so it does feel like a new era as well.
Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappe, who is one of the very few players to have had a very good season at the club, has already set sights on what he wants to achieve now.
After he won the award for Real Madrid's player of the season, he was asked about the Club World Cup, to which he said: "It’ll be the first time we play in this competition, and we’re really looking forward to it.
"It’s a chance to be World Champions with the club. We will fight to win it.”
It is going to be good to see a new version of Real Madrid so soon. Alonso will have to be quick to figure out what to do in the Club World Cup in June, and I am sure Mbappe will be one of the pillars.
Mbappe was happy with the award, and said how good he feels after having to adapt to the club.
However, he knows there is a lot more to achieve. He knows that Alonso's arrival could mean that he [would have to improve.](https://therealchamps.com/bayer-leverkusen-player-warning-spells-tough-days-ahead-real-madrid-front-line) He also knows this could be a dynasty. It will be interesting to see how these stories unfold.
