Birmingham City and Derby County 'plot' transfer raid for Hull City old boy after Aston Villa…

It looks increasingly likely that Louie Barry will be plying his trade in the Championship again next season. A fresh report from Give Me Sport states Aston Villa plan to send the former Hull City player out on loan again in the 2025/26 season.

Newly-promoted Birmingham City have internally discussed the forward as they weigh up summer targets. Derby County are also said to be big admirers of Barry. West Bromwich Albion and Coventry City will also be in the market for attacking reinforcements as they look to challenge at the top end of the table next year.

Barry, who joined the Tigers on loan during the January transfer window, played just four times for City. He sustained a knee injury in the 1-0 win at Sunderland back in February, a knock that ruled him out for the remainder of the campaign. The 21-year-old earned his move to the MKM Stadium off the back of a superb loan stint at Stockport County where he scored 16 goals in 24 outings.

After City retained their Championship status following a final day draw at Portsmouth, Barry posted on his Instagram account: "Gutted I wasn't able to get over the line and get back on the pitch before the end of the season, but proud of all the lads getting the job done," Barry wrote on Instagram. "Thank you to everyone at the club and all the fans for how you welcomed me when I first came in. UP THE TIGERS."

It remains unclear whether the Tigers will pursue a deal for Barry and look to bring him back to East Yorkshire.
