Sheffield United will be looking find joy in the promotion race in the 2025/26 season after heartbreak at the final hurdle this year. SUFC were beaten in the play-off final by Sunderland last weekend, losing 2-1 at the death.
The disappointment will sting for Chris Wilder and co, but it should light a fire in Blades bellies to avoid such a fate next time around.

Notable departures from Bramall Lane are inevitable, and it is claimed a potential Gustavo Hamer replacement is already on the radar.
EFL Analysis states that with Sheffield United braced to lose Hamer, they are eyeing Coventry City star Jack Rudoni as someone who could plug the gap left by the Dutch star.
SUFC are not alone in eyeing the 23-year-old attacking midfielder though. Relegated duo Leicester City and Southampton also have interest in Rudoni with the Sky Blues potentially facing a fight to keep him just a year after his arrival.
Rudoni, who is under contract until the summer of 2028, has also appeared on the radar of Premier League side Newcastle United, as per separate reports.
