Marcus Rashford ‘extreme motivation’ for move, takes front page – Agent of Manchester United star at work

On Wednesday, [Sport reported](https://sportwitness.co.uk/marcus-rashford-agent-meets-deco-at-barcelona-hotel-pictured-as-he-negotiates-manchester-united-exit/) Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford’s agent had a meeting with Deco at a hotel in Barcelona and even had a picture of the representative.

The 27-year-old spent the second half of this season on loan at Aston Villa, who won’t use their purchase option. He’ll return to Manchester United but has no future under Ruben Amorim.

Rashford’s agent has been at work to place him at Barcelona in the summer window.

Toni Juanmartí covered yesterday’s news for the Catalan newspaper and has now come up with a fresh report for [Sport](https://www.sport.es/es/noticias/barca/rashford-dispuesto-todo-fichar-barcelona-117934357) on Barcelona’s pursuit of the Manchester United player.

He claims the England international’s chances of joining the La Liga winners have increased after his agent met the sporting director on Wednesday. Within the Camp Nou, there are some who believe Rashford would be a realistic option to strengthen their attack.

Both Hansi Flick and Barca’s sporting leaders are seduced’ by his ‘extreme motivation’ to join the Blaugrana. Sport state this could tip the balance in his favour to join the La Liga giants.

Rashford is eager to redeem himself after a difficult time at Manchester United and the Catalan club believe he can fulfil his full potential at the Camp Nou.

Luis Díaz, valued at €70-80m by Liverpool, is also on the Spanish club’s list. They would like to sign him, but given their current situation, Rashford is a ‘good, attractive, and cheap’ option.

Earlier claims have stated the Manchester United attacker is willing to take a considerable pay cut to join Barca and Sport point that out again. They are looking for a loan move, with the Red Devils potentially covering a small part of his salary.

Barca believe this would only be possible if Rashford puts pressure on Manchester United and keeps rejecting other options.

Sport state: _‘Some people in Rashford’s entourage believe it’s in the player’s best interest to leave England to leave behind a somewhat tainted environment. Marcus’ desire to be a Barça player is so great that he’s willing to come with no guarantees. In other words, he wants to earn everything on the pitch.’_

The front page of Thursday’s edition of Sport carries the agent meeting news from Wednesday. It doesn’t take a great leap of faith to believe Rashford’s camp are pushing this and giving information to Sport, including where and when the meeting would be, in exchange for them hyping the potential move.

That would be why an essentially old story gets on Sport’s front page.
