Dominic Calvert-Lewin looks set to leave Everton upon the expiry of his contract next month as replacements are already being lined up.
That is according to former Man United and West Ham scout Mick Brown, who worked closely with David Moyes during his time at the London Stadium, as he exclusively told Football Insider that the decision has already been made.
The 28-year-old’s repeated injury issues have cooled the Toffees’ desire to renew his terms, while he is prepared to explore his options as a free agent.
This comes after Brown told Football Insider in January that Moyes would hold talks with Calvert-Lewin about extending his deal before the season ended.
After no agreement was reached, they will instead turn their attentions towards the transfer market to find competition for Beto up front.
Brown told Football Insider earlier this month that Everton have held talks with Liam Delap and feel they can convince him to choose them ahead of Man United.

Everton plan to let Calvert-Lewin leave and sign a replacement
Brown told Football Insider on 18 April that Newcastle have had second thoughts about Calvert-Lewin, and the deal has hit a stumbling block amid fitness concerns.
The former scout who has a wealth of experience in top-level player recruitment after over a decade at Man United during their most successful period, has insisted the Magpies interest has faded, but he still looks set to leave Everton.
“Everton wanted to hand him a new deal,” he told Football Insider.
“But I hear they might be easing away from that now.
“His injury issues have been a major concern because every time it looks like he’s making a comeback, he’s ruled out for another two or three months.
“David Moyes can’t afford to keep a player on big wages who can’t play for most of the season.
“He just takes up space in the squad at the moment, as good as he can be when he’s fit.
“So from what I hear, they’re prepared to let him go and bring in another striker.
“He’s been looking to make a move too, and he’ll be able to assess his options.
“I don’t think there’s a lack of suitors for him because teams know what he can do when he’s fit.
“Newcastle were having a look at him at one stage, but I’m not sure that interest is there any more.
“They’re looking to replace Callum Wilson, but he’s had his own injury issues and they don’t want to bring in a new striker with the same problem.
“At Everton, though, they’re not content with Beto leading the line on his own.
“They want to replace Calvert-Lewin with somebody who can become not just competition for Beto but also be their first-choice centre-forward.”

David Moyes eyes Angel Gomes swoop
A new striker is not the only position Moyes wants to strengthen in this summer, as he is also eyeing midfield reinforcements amid interest in Angel Gomes.
Brown told Football Insider that Everton are considering a move for Gomes when he leaves Lille upon the expiry of his contract next month.
However, while Moyes wants to add more technical ability to his midfield, there are concerns about Gomes’ physicality and how he would adapt to the Premier League.
Meanwhile, Football Insider revealed on 25 May that Everton will find it hard to sign Gomes given the interest from Champions League-level clubs.
