Manchester United’s current rebuild means several of their own players have drawn attention from top clubs, with Marcus Rashford among those loosely linked to a fresh start abroad.
However, it seems Barcelona have made their stance crystal clear on the Red Devils forward.
According to multiple reports in Spain, Marcus Rashford has been ruled out as a summer target for Barcelona, with Deco preferring a more proven and impactful winger.
That man is none other than Liverpool’s Luis Diaz, who has emerged as the Blaugrana’s top attacking priority for the upcoming window, as reported by Mundo Deportivo.
Deco reportedly believes Diaz would make an instant impact under Flick and fits the tactical requirements perfectly — more so than Rashford, whose form and consistency remain a concern.

Reports claimed that Rashford was eager to secure a move to Barcelona, viewing the Catalan giants as his dream destination.
While Manchester United are still figuring out Rashford’s long-term role under Ruben Amorim, Barcelona are fully focused on Diaz, who has just two years left on his Liverpool deal and has so far refused to sign an extension.
Barca see this as an opportunity to pounce, with Deco especially encouraged by Diaz’s modest salary demands and his openness to leaving Anfield this summer.
Liverpool are said to be asking for between €70m and €80m, a figure that could complicate matters for Barcelona, who remain under financial pressure.
Still, the club is exploring various routes to make the move possible, which likely puts an end to any hopes United had of shifting Rashford to Camp Nou.
His future may lie elsewhere — but it won’t be in Spain.
