Birmingham City are said to be interested in Aston Villa's Louie Barry.

Clubs up and down the English footballing pyramid have been put on high alert following reports Barry has been made available for loan.

The 21-year-old enjoyed temporary spells at both Stockport County and Hull City last season, but returned early to Villa Park after suffering an injury.

But now the player is said to be fit and ready, with Unai Emery wanting the youngster to test himself in the Sky Bet Championship once again to see if he's ready to make inroads into the Villa first-team.

This has reportedly led to 'a scramble of clubs' vying for his services, one of them being Blues who have made a record-breaking return to the second tier.

Chris Davies guided his side to an impressive 111 points as Birmingham won League One and returned to the Championship at the first time of asking.

With a big summer ahead of them, Give Me Sport are reporting the club have held internal talks about signing young Barry.

Barry started off his career with Sutton United and West Bromwich Albion, before Villa brought him back to the UK in 2020 after a short stint at Barcelona - and he has since enjoyed several loan spells

The most successful being the two years at Stockport County, where last season he scored 16 goals in 24 appearances.

He spent the whole of the season prior at Stockport and helped them to the League Two title after bagging nine times in 20 games, but missed a portion of the season due to a hamstring injury.

Great form that saw Barry recalled to the West Midlands early before being shipped out to Hull City to test the player at a higher level.
